Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple
Situated in the Legship on the banks of river Rangit is the famous Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is one of the most visited places for the Lord Shiva’s devotees from all over the world. This temple is associated with Mahabharata’s mythological stories, as the legend says Lord Shiva had appeared at the very spot where the Kirteshwar Mahadev temple stands today when he was pleased with Arjuna’s devotion just before the war of Mahabharta and gave Arjuna and gave him Pashupta Astra. Belief is that people visiting to this place get blessed by the blessings of Lord Shiva. This temple is also famous for its festival called the Bela Chaturdesi which is celebrated between November and December every year. Devotees of Lord Shiva from all over the world visit the temple during these months and perform their prayers. There is a Dharamshala near the temple with capacity of accommodating around 500 people at time, and they charge a very nominal fee. So, you need not worry about the stay here, however, there are also few hotels nearby where you can stay.

Samdruptse
Samdruptse (meaning ‘wish fulfilling hill’ in the Bhutia language) is located near Namchi in southern Sikkim, just 75 kilometers away from the capital Gangtok. On the top if this hill stands Painted in shimmering copper, pink and bronze, the 45m-high, Rinporchee Padmasambhava’s exclusive, enormous and inspirational statue which is revered by most of the localites and also millions of people in the world. The statue was made in the honor of Guru Padmasambhava also known as Guru Rimpochew his blessing have stayed with Sikkim for more than 1200 years, this statue can be seen from miles away. It is the highest statue of Guru Padamasambhava in the entire world and is an inconceivable feat of engineering. Dalai Lama laid the foundation stone of the statue in October 1997 and the statue was completed in year 2000. The statue of Guru Padmasambhava is hence a perfect tribute to this patron saint of Sikkim. It is also said that the Samdruptse hill is in reality a Dormant Volcano. Myths say that the Buddhist monks have been going on top of the hill and offering prayers to the volcano to keep it calm for hundreds of years and so that the people of Sikkim can live peacefully in this beautiful valley.

Inside the complex, there’s an unending photo exhibition of archival images from India’s history, together with a rare picture of Mahatma Gandhi breaking into a jig which is worth seeing. This holy place also provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding Solophok hill.

Buddha Park
The Buddha Park, located at Ravange which is also called Tathagata Tsal holds a 130 feet high statue of Lord Buddha located in the centre of this park. The site was selected within the bigger religious complex of the Rabong Gompa (Monastery), itself a centuries-old place of Buddhist pilgrimage. There is also the Ralang Monastery, a key monastery in Tibetan Buddhism nearby which you can also visit during your tour here.

The statue was consecrated on 25th March 2013 by Dalai Lama and has become a key place on the ‘Himalayan Buddhist Circuit’ and is also significant as it marks the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha. There is a Lake called Cho Djo which is located within the Buddha park is surrounded by forests from all the four sides which provides a picturesque view.

Solophok Chardham
This Pilgrim Centre has a most important temple of 108 feet height on which is established the 87 feet high statue of Lord Shiva. Apart from this there are also replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas, to offer one platform to worship for the devotees of Lord Shiva. A statue of 16½ feet height of Lord Kirateshwar is also installed in this place. As per the Hindu belief in order to attain Moksha, one has to perform pilgrimage to all the existing four Dhams, hence, replicas of these four Dhams, namely Badrinath, Jaganath and Dwarka dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Rameshwar, dedicated to Lord Shiva is also been built in the same premises. The pilgrim centre is constructed in an area of 28.958 Hactare of land on top of the Solophok Hill just 5 kilometers from Namchi town. The whole complex is divided into four key elements, viz., (1) Shiva Statue with 12 Jyotirlingas, (2) Char Dham, (3) Sai Baba Temple and (4) Kirateshwar statue as well Nandi bull the ride of Lord Shiva, Sai dwar, Sai Temple, Kirat dwar and Shiv Dwar.
